More Free Trade Goodness
The editors of The New Republic extol the virtues of NAFTA for the American economy. It includes such quotes as, 'According to a Council of the Americas analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data, "Total employment in the U.S. motor vehicle industry has grown five times faster following NAFTA than in years prior to the agreement." ' They go on to criticize Bush for not funding job re-training programs that ease the adjustment for workers. A fair criticism. Skills are our advantage over other economies.
